Podcast with Mohit Beriwala

Recently I had the opportunity to reflect on my journey with Mohit Beriwala, that started with a ₹3,200 per month trainee programmer role and evolved into leading large-scale data and analytics transformations across the banking industry.

Looking back, a few lessons stand out:

✅ Careers are marathons, not sprints. Depth of expertise often creates more value than frequent job changes.

✅ Financial freedom is rarely built through shortcuts. Consistent investing, disciplined spending, and patience tend to outperform the latest "guaranteed wealth creation" scheme.

✅ ESOPs can sometimes become more rewarding than annual increments, provided you have conviction in the company's future.

✅ The most important skill today is not coding, AI, or analytics. It is the ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn.

✅ Every technological disruption creates anxiety. It also creates opportunity. AI is no exception.

One observation after nearly three decades in technology and banking:

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒖𝒔𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆.

And yes, despite what social media may suggest, 𝑺𝒖𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒘𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑, 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒄𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒂 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒆𝒏𝒅. 🙂

Mohit is Founder and Principal Officer of Shree Rama Managers LLP, a portfolio management firm. With more than 19–20 years of experience in wealth management, investments, and financial advisory, he has been a superb host to bring out the best from the guests
